Comments Are Welcome, Bigots and Trolls Are Not

  • Bob

Night Court. Not even sure if any or all of it is out, but I'm a DVD junkie, and I've never seen it.

  • DarthCorleone

Yeah, be careful what you wish for. We might get a Wonder Years DVD release with horrible cheap music cues in place of the original tracks that have been way too expensive for them to license again.

  • Lillimae

Get A Life!! It was released on DVD but is now long out of print and so hard to find. C'mon...Spewy! Genius!

  • Patrick Garcia

In case it hasn't been mentioned yet, EVERY SEASON OF THE WONDER YEARS IS AVAILABLE ON NETFLIX.

  • Martin

    DVDs? Come on.

All this shit needs to be licensed to stream on Netflix (or elsewhere for a nominal fee.)

The fact that Pete & Pete is not streaming on my TV right now is a gargantuan miscarriage of justice.

  • Amanda

    Muppets Tonight!

  • Amanda

I'd like them to release Northern Exposure with the original music it aired with. They did the same with Gavin and Stacey when they released it on DVD here in the States. The scene where they're all drunk and dancing around is NOT the same when House of Fun isn't being played in the background.

  • A. Smith

I'm still waiting for the last set for Animaniacs and the run to Histeria! Also, and this is because I'm weird like that I want to see the series set for Drive, for a show that had a short life it had an unusually good cast.

  • nottherealamy

    I second Animaniacs, Volume 4.

  • Michelle

I kind of want Homefront to be on DVD so I can see if it's as good as I remember.

  • Michelle

    Plus, young Kyle Chandler!

  • PerpetualIntern

My husband and I have been rewatching The Wonder Years on Netflix Instant. It's just as fantastic this time around as the first.

  • Renton

    King of the Hill 7-12.
We in the UK haven't even got 6 :(

  • Needed: every DCU season, and none of this four episode pack crap. Batman: TAS, Superman, Justice League, Justice League Unlimited, Teen Titans, all of them.

  • himonoonna

This rabid Hill Street Blues fan now officially loves Pajiba more than ever.

  • Harry Senate

Ed, Boston Public and the last two seasons of American Dreams.

  • Leigh

Yes... American Dreams S2 and S3!!

  • A. Smith

Yes, I missed the last two seasons of BP. I loved that show... and Wolf Lake.

  • BierceAmbrose

Seasons 2-7 of Firefly. I mean WTF, Fox?

  • POINGjam

    Piracy is good for you.

  • polly

Is the carol burnet show on dvds? I would add that to the list

  • John W

I would kill for a complete set of MST3K.

And the rest of WKRP in Cincinatti

  • Dee

Green Acres!!! Only the first 3 seasons made it to DVD; also When Things Were Rotten, pllllleeeeaaasseee!?!

  • Pat C.

I was going to say "My Living Doll" with Julie Newmar, but when I checked I see that season 1 just came out this year. Second the vote for Batman and Wonder Years.

  • GunNut2600

This is why I torrent old TV shows without any shame. A lot of episodes, there is zero chance of them ever coming out. For example, MST3K will never come out with the original episodes. A lot of the original royalty rights are back with the holders. You end up with situations of really bad films, becoming cult classic because of Mike and the Gang and now they could never afford them.

Eh...I was never a fan of "Wonder Years". I was always hoping another, much more angry and violent voice, would start playing in Arnold's head...leading to present day where he is locked up in a mental institution for the criminally insane.

  • Abby

    Frank's Place!

  • dmm

I second the Ed mention and would like to add Homefront, Ashes to Ashes, and The Others.

  • HOMEFRONT! A thousand times, Homefront!

  • llp

I love The Others too. I ran across a rerun somewhere last year, and was so pleased.

  • Heldrificus

Although it sucked compared to seasons 1&2 (where it was drained of Lemmer and much of its originality), I still want season 3 of Parker Lewis Can't Lose.

  • Keeba

BETTER OFF TED, season 2. I've been desperate to acquire it.

  • Uriah_Creep

That may actually be my favourite comedy show ever (Veronica being the funniest boss imaginable), so I'm happy to say that it's streaming on Netflix, at least in Canada.

  • Jezzer

It's streaming in the US too.

  • stacy

Dream On! Season 1-2 is out, but nothing after that.

  • NateMan

How the floppity flock did you create this list and leave off The Muppet Show?!

  • Atoz15

So happy about the inclusion of 'undressed' I would love to rewatch tht.. 'terriers' is at least on instant Netflix and my friend has the series of 'wonder years' on DVD he bought it like 5 yrs ago so it's out there I'm pretty sure

  • Karl Kaefer

Give me... I NEED... "The Equalizer"!! Only season 1 published. Also, I have it on VHS- but I need everything that Spike Jones (not the director!) ever aired on 50's/60's TV!

  • Drake

Brimstone - one short, great season.

  • dude

I haven't loved anything for a long long time.

  • Karl Kaefer

OMG- YES!!!!! John Glover is the best devil EVER!!

  • jmd

    St. Elsewhere, please

  • Farty

The Wonder Years won't happen because the clearance rates for the music are WAY too high, which you can thank all the shitheaps who illegally download music for.

  • Jezzer

I didn't know the RIAA commented on Pajiba.

  • Psychicdog

Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight. Not because of an industry scrambling to squeeze profit out of every song as platforms fracture, reaching a wider audience becomes more difficult, and musicians begin bypassing the machine and releasing their material themselves (sometimes even for free!).
King John and the Sheriff of Nottingham don't WANT to tax the peasants so....

  • Joe

Yes, as a music pirate, when the rights holders of The Wonder Years came before me asking if they could release on DVD as-is, I told them no way I could let them have my copies of those Joe Cocker MP3's for less then 2 million per episode.

  • kitty

    Terriers is streamable on Netflix.

  • Viking

I'm still so pissed that show got cancelled. W.T.F?

  • Sirilicious

Third Watch. Sofar it's only season one on DVD, and it is one of the very few procedurals i stuck with for the long haul.

  • Guest

WKRP needs all seasons, and a re-do on S1 so we get the original music, too.

  • Poopy

You are obviously a fucking moron who knows nothing about royalty rates. In order to get the 'original music' on the season one dvd's the program owners would have to shell out around $8,000,000 in royalties and there is no fucking way they will ever do that.

  • Guest

Wow. I just got trolled and trolled hard. I need a cigarette.

  • Green Lantern

Take yer time. We gotcher back.

  • Sgt. Hulka

    Lighten up Francis

  • Groundloop

@Poopy, you are obviously new here. Otherwise you'd know that Ranylt isn't a moron, fucking or otherwise. The list of shows that Josh put together, and the shows people are mentioning in the comments, adds up to a "wish list", so chill.

  • Because I have the taste of a middle-aged woman, I say Judging Amy. It's one of my all-time favorite shows and one of the few procedurals that had equal weight on character development and story arcs. I'd say it competes with Parenthood for most heartwarming family dinner scenes ever. Plus, you know, the depressingness of juvenile court and social work.

  • kayla

Omg, I forgot about that show! I used to watch the reruns on TNT and fell in love. It was amazing.

  • zyzzyva

I wish they could edit out her daughter, though, especially the tween/teen years...

  • Yes, exactly. Just replace all the Lauren scenes with more Bruce.

  • zyzzyva

Ooh, Bruce. Why didn't I wait until now to post my Pajiba 10 list?! ;)

  • $27019454

"God loves a Terrier. Yes He does. God loves a Terrier. That's because. Small, sturdy, brave and true -- they give their love to you. God didn't miss a stitch. Be it dog or be it bitch.. When He made the Norwich merrier with his cute little derrier, yes God loves a Terrier."

Also: Rene from True Blood! Sofa King Cute!

  • Green Lantern

(I can't believe you just "sang" that. And I totally know you SANG it as you typed...don't lie.)

  • Leia947

"Ed" needs to be on DVD like, now! I had flashbacks when I saw Dr. Mike on an episode of "Grimm!" I miss the $10 bets :-(

  • Emmet O'Cuana

Yes - silly rights complications. Great show. Also us poor wee overseas folk can't get a copy of Freaks and Geeks for apparently the same reason - music rights.

  • Johnnyseattle

    Hell, Fuck, and Yes.

  • zyzzyva

Two Guys, a Girl, and a Pizza Place. Dumb title, but Ryan Reynolds and Nathan Fillion? Yes please.

  • zyzzyva

Also, The Jim Henson Hour! They've released a few of the accompanying stories, like The Storyteller and Dog City, but not the first halves with the Muppets running the TV station and short skits. Problem is all the different sections are owned by different groups and no one wants to cooperate.

  • Melissa

Ahh, Two guys, a Girl, and a Pizza Place...the show that made me think Barenaked Ladies had been on Scrubs for the longest time...

  • NoPantsMcLane

Malcolm In The Middle. Only season 1 has been released on DVD.

  • Amanda

If you have Amazon Prime you can watch them all online. But I agree, they need to release them all already!

  • Three_nineteen

    BOOGER!
    Sorry.
Also, time to find and post random Your Show of Shows sketches!
    http://www.funnyordie.com/vide...

  • mrcreosote

Which season of WKRP had the episode about "Imagine"? That was a great ep. I don't believe there was a clear cut conclusion to the storyline, ever.

  • Groundloop

It was season 3, episode 22.

  • $27019454

Loved that episode. I hate that song, but I love that episode.

  • Justice League / Justice League Unlimited - eps are out, but in some weird 3-4 eps per package deal.

For that matter I don't believe that there is a complete Batman: The Animated Series.

  • Luke

The 1992 Batman? Yes there is...its out of print but you can still buy the 4 boxes that made up the set

  • REL

Wonder Years will probably never be released, since they wouldn't be able to afford the rights for all the songs they use. Too bad.

  • Johnnyseattle

That's actually what's killing Ed too.

  • What do you mean? I don't know if it's on DVD, but the whole series is available for streaming on Netflix!

  • e jerry powell

No, it's not on DVD. Something about after-market music licensing being FUCKING EXPENSIVE. Netflix, for purposes of music licensing, is not considered to be home video sales, but rather just rebroadcasting.

  • Nicole_OCTV

    Not Netflix Canada :(

  • Appwitch

    Same with China Beach :(

  • muertemaria

So sad about no China Beach DVDs.

  • Stacey

And who would want it without the music? Quantum Leap did that, with terrible results.

  • ERM

Daria did as well, and it was not nearly as good without the original music!

  • Psychicdog

That's why a number of fans on the internet put together a project where they began to edit the original songs back into high quality video versions of the episodes.

  • I'd add The Muppet Show to this list. Not sure why they've lagged on releasing those... Copyright issues?

  • Josh Kurp

Nice call with The Muppet Show. So sad.

  • llp

I have the first three seasons of The Muppet Show on DVD - get thee to Amazon!

  • Luke

Lets claim that and being lazy...I would have thought they would have put them out with the movie release. I mean they did cut some songs from the first 3 discs...

  • googergieger

    Whose Line Is It Anyway!?

    Both versions!

  • Leia947

Seasons 1&2 of the British version are out, but I am impatiently waiting for the others! British version is leagues better than the Drew Carey one.... Tony Slattery!!

  • Green Lantern

    Slattery FTW!

  • oh, yes, Wonder Years please... I know it's available to stream on Netflix right now, but what if they cruelly take it away like they did with Veronica Mars and T:TSCC?

  • Luke

I would assume with the licensing sorted with Batman now, we might get that. MST3K not so much...Joel always talks about that and the issues they have. Only hope for MST3K is Sandy Franks dies and whoever gets the rights after has a sense of humor

  • Jezzer

The only way you'll ever see a complete MST3k collection is by learning to torrent. I heard. Allegedly.

  • Psychicdog

    Sandy Frank! Sandy Frank!
He's the source of all our pain!

  • BWeaves

OK, I just got a visual of a Sandy Frank as the thing that makes your vagina sandy when you do it on a beach.
