Susan Sarandon Remains the Worst
Here’s the thing about awful white people: they can witness the abject pain and horror of immigrants being hunted down by ICE, Muslim people being unable to enter the country, and all others suffering under the evils of this administration already, and they can still say “this is great, because we’ll burn it all down and then the revolution will fix everything!” never giving a moment’s care to those who cannot wait for the imaginary revolution to imaginarily change everything.
And Susan Sarandon remains, as ever, an awful white person.
Sarandon appeared on All In with Chris Hayes last night to discuss how things are going. And good news, non-white, non-millionaires—things are going great!
“I think that I absolutely feel that analyzing and spending time and energy talking about blaming people or who made mistakes or what should have happened is really wasting your time and energy, because what we have now is a populus that is awake…He’s so clumsy and so bad at putting these things through that everyone is awake and saying ‘Oh my god, what’s happening to the EPA?’”
The thing is, Janet, the people most affected by this administration were already “awake.” The people just now realizing what was at stake are the people who didn’t have enough skin in the game to care when their votes were needed, when this could have been prevented.
Of course, Susan isn’t here for woulda, coulda, shouldas…
“What we have to do now is spend our time and energy focusing on how to fight what’s going on. So when people are attacking me or trying to say this could have happened, really? That’s where you’re spending your time and energy.”
Unless, you know, it’s her woulda, coulda, shoulda, saying, “I really am not a proponent for trying to have a revolution when we could have had a peaceful change…I would much rather have seen it with a leader like Bernie Sanders.”
Luckily Sooz, our limited energy is still able to flow through various canals. And you, ma soeur, are just such a canal. A leaky septic one that can’t stop spouting shit.
