Many of you may recall that, a decade ago, there was a minor scandal over some photoshopping of Keira Knightley’s breasts in a promo poster for the 2004 film, King Arthur.

Knightley, who is gorgeous but isn’t exactly well endowed, has been the subject of a lot of photoshopping over her career, and she’s finally decided to say, ‘F*ck it,.” To prove a point about photoshopping, Knightley posed topless in Interview magazine and insisted that her breasts not be photoshopped or retouched.

As she told The Times:

“I’ve had my body manipulated so many different times for so many different reasons, whether it’s paparazzi photographers or for film posters,” Knightley said. “That [shoot] was one of the ones where I said: ‘OK, I’m fine doing the topless shot so long as you don’t make them any bigger or retouch.’ Because it does feel important to say it really doesn’t matter what shape you are.”

She also added, “I think women’s bodies are a battleground and photography is partly to blame. Our society is so photographic now, it becomes more difficult to see all of those different varieties of shape.”

Good for her. This is awesome, and she clearly needs no photo retouching.

Related: Slowly, but surely folks, toplessness for females is normalizing (see also, Chelsea Handler’s topless photo), and before you know it, we won’t have to place NSFW warnings because we are fucking adults and it’s ridiculous that we need to be warned that we’re about to see topless nudity.
