Coming off the ridiculous success of Black Panther, Marvel clearly doesn’t have anything to prove. However, it does still have two movies left to release this year: Avengers: Infinity War in May, and Ant-Man and The Wasp in July. So how do they plan to keep that momentum going? By bumping up that Avengers release date to April 27th!
And of course they got Robert Downey Jr. to play along…
On a scale of one to infinity, how excited are you to see #InfinityWar on May 4th? pic.twitter.com/72jYKj2ODG

Any chance I could see it earlier?

Anything for you, Mr. Stark! How’s April 27th?

Ok look, that’s cute and all (aside from Marvel calling RDJ “Mr. Stark” because, like, that’s a little weird — even if they are paying him truckloads of cash for the privilege of making him literally be his character). But hands down the best takeaway from this whole Twitter announcement is the side conversation it inspired between Don Cheadle and his House of Lies co-star Ben Schwartz… WHO JUST WANTS HIS FUCKING MONEY BACK, DON.

The moral of this story is: No matter how much money Marvel pays their enormously talented and sprawling cast, there’s always gonna be somebody, somewhere, who expects a cut of it. Right, War Machine? Or maybe the moral is simply: Don’t wind up indebted to Jean-Ralphio — dude has ZERO chill.
