As a part of the continuing #NotOkay movement, the women behind the web series Girls On Film have released a series focusing on sexual assault and experiences with abuse.

Each video will focus on different periods of life: childhood, adolescence, and adulthood. They feature a who’s who of women in the pop culture and film internet world, including Alicia Malone from Fandango and Filmstruck, and Sasha Perl-Raver from FX Movie Download.

Refusal to recognize that a culture geared towards rape and abuse even exists is a serious problem, and women sharing stories that have become acceptable as part of being a lady is a brutal truth to help smash that ignorance.

The first episode of the series is stark and intensely personal, featuring stories running a gamut of home, school, and abroad. The series can be viewed at Hitfix.
