Amy Schumer Tells Fat Shaming Trolls Where They Can Get Off

Fans of Amy Schumer’s fierce and feminist brand of comedy had reason to rejoice this week when she unveiled the trailer for her first big movie Trainwreck. But Hollywood Elsewhere owner/professional troll/human garbage Jeff Wells decided this was an opportunity to reduce Schumer to how unfuckable he finds her.

Other entertainement writers were quick to call Wells out on the latest in a stream of fat-shaming misogynistic posts. But now Schumer has responded, and in a way that’s pretty perfect.

I know some will say she shouldn’t have posted this revealing pic, or that she shouldn’t have felt the need to share her dress size. That either or both undermine her point. But in a world where women are made to feel shame if they’re bigger than a size 2, I think it’s great for Schumer to show her pride in her body and its designer designation. Because fuck that noise.

Now you might think Schumer’s size and just how fuckable random dudes find her shouldn’t matter when it comes to her fronting a comedy. But as we saw when Melissa McCarthy was cast in Ghostbusters, dude boners are the true measure of great comedy. That’s why people love the original Ghostbusters, because of all the boners it causes.

I won’t link to Wells’ site because fuck that guy. But in case you want to know what got Twitter raging, here’s a tweet with a pretty damning screengrab. (Also, Wells is known for deleting or editing posts once too many people threaten his ad sales, so it’s best to screengrab.)

And because that tool doesn’t deserve the last word, here’s Schumer:
