Does Anyone Else Feel Sorry for the Blockhead Who Proposed With a McDonald's Sandwich?

Sometimes, I feel like you have to recognize and appreciate the earnest intent behind an action, even if it is a remarkable failure, as is the case here when the “worst boyfriend ever” attempted to propose to his girlfriend by sneaking an engagement ring inside of a McDonald’s chicken sandwich.

Here’s the video of that proposal attempt, and it’s exceedingly uncomfortable, not just because you know going in that it’s going to fail, but because of how incredibly awkward it is for both the boyfriend and the girlfriend.

Don’t get me wrong: I feel for the girlfriend here, too. No one wants to be proposed to in this manner, even if — as is the case here — the couple’s first date ever was in a McDonalds.

On the other hand, oof, that poor witless fella. You can actually witness his heart breaking. He must have thought he’d come up with the most brilliantly romantic idea ever, and to have his girlfriend reject him — not because she didn’t love him, but because of the manner in which he proposed — must have been devastating.

Also, why the hell would you put your own private humiliation on YouTube, unless it is to fund a better proposal idea?
