Twitter Reacts To CDC's Advice For Avoiding The Coronavirus

With the coronavirus dominating the news cycle, the Center for Disease Control and Prevention has offered some simple guidelines to help avoid COVID-19. These include avoiding close contact with people who are sick, washing your hands for at least 20 seconds, and not touching your face.

The science on the last one is basically your fingers might touch something infected, which on its own is no big deal. But if you then rub your eyes or pick your nose or touch your mouth, your risk of contracting a disease is higher. So, it’s really not just a good coronavirus-prevention method, but just good advice in general. Still, Twitter was not pleased.

Yup! Face-touching is a tricky habit to break. But no need to panic. The World Health Organization’s rules on handwashing can also help. Check em out here.
