Look I’m no fan of McDonald’s, or advertising. But this right here, this is genius.
Two lads, Jevh Maravilla and Christian Toledo, students at the University of Houston, noticed that their local McDonald’s was missing something. Namely that of all the posters plastered around the McDonald’s reminding people to eat McDonald’s even while they’re in McDonald’s, none featured any Asians. So Jevh and Christian decided to take matters into their own hands.
Setting up a photoshoot the pair snapped themselves in a typical ‘Damn, life is worth living when you’re eating McDonald’s!’ pose, and then sent the photo off to the printers, to await delivery of a poster that matched the format of the posters already inside the Houston branch of McDonald’s that they were going to target.
If you’re thinking that it might be a bit tricky to just waltz into a Maccie D’s and start interior decorating then don’t worry—Jevh and Christian had that covered. Perhaps with an eye on auditioning for the next Oceans 11 movie Jevh bought a McDonald’s uniform in a thrift shop, snatched up a walkie-talkie, and then just to put the cherry on top added a badge to the uniform with a fake name and the title, ‘regional interior coordinator’.

Once inside the Maccie D’s on the day of action, the pair—along with friend and accomplice Cassandra—waited until the coast was clear, attaching an easily removable glue to the back of the poster, then positioning it, and boom:
i noticed there was a blank wall at mcdonald’s so i decided to make this fake poster of me and my friend. It’s now been 51 days since i hung it up. pic.twitter.com/5OTf5aR4vm

Luckily for us, the plucky heroes documented everything in video format too:
