The Perpetually Confounding Amount Of Misplaced Confidence On Twitter

If there is one constant associated with Twitter it is the unbridled amount of confidence found in a majority of its users. This is evident in the user who argued about female anatomy with a gynecologist, going so far as to write a 20-page defense of his ignorance on the subject as proof of being right. Then there are the comic fans that argue about characters with the women who actually wrote several of their story arcs.

Sure, we could just call this mansplaining, because that’s what it is. Behold the confidence and lack of empathy, awareness, and humility endlessly on display on Twitter at any given time, friends.

FAKE FANBOY ALERT!

Did you know that if a company provides expensive tools for its workers that it means the writers are highly paid? It’s just science that no one has bothered to formally study!

It never occurred to this person that the reason white men are writing cover stories is that white men are being hired to write those cover stories. And those white men are hired to write the cover stories because POC and women are not considered in the first place due to white men doing the hiring.

Ladies and gentlemen, Jason Crotch.

Even after multitudes of Twitter users began referring to Crouch as Jason Crotch, he doubled down on being an unending dullard and ass.

A very bad take tagged with a popular hashtag to garner more eyes on it:

Here’s someone who’s never had to choose between paying for medical care and doing something fun with friends!

Even after an actual mental health professional argued with Washington, he held fast to his terrible take and argued with dissenters in his comments. It makes you wonder what sort of mindset allows people to constantly look the other way when information to the contrary is presented to them from credible sources. Then again, it makes you realize how we got to where we are as a country when it comes to gun violence, racism, and self-preservation at the cost of others. May Godtopus grant us all the confidence of a less-than-mediocre man to effect real change and spread facts instead of opinioning under the guise of educated statements.

Until then, the bane and boon of social media will forever be the ability of every person, no matter how unqualified, to share their opinions as immovable facts to thousands of people.
