It always starts out innocently enough. Your adorable puppy is being SO GOOD that it should be fine to let them have a snack off of your plate once you’re done. Not all of the time, mind you. Just sometimes. The next thing you know, your dog is all over you every time you have a plate in your hand, begging to grab a bite from it. Or that dog maybe tries to grab a mouthful of food from the plate as it passes near his head as you hand it off to someone else.
BAD HABIT ACQUIRED.
Or maybe you work from home and sometimes stay on the computer too late. Maybe your dog learned that when the laptop gets closed that means it is bed time, prompting him to climb off of your legs and head into his own crate.
FANTASTIC HABIT ACQUIRED.
