I’m sure that by now everyone is familiar with Dall-E, the artificial intelligence programme created by the AI research lab, OpenAI. OpenAI has links to one of the internet’s most annoying main characters—it was co-founded by Elon Musk in 2015, though he resigned from its board in 2018 (and vampiric uber-capitalist Peter Thiel also had his fingers in its creation)—but we’re gonna skirt right past that for now, because for the past few weeks Dall-E has been responsible for some of the funniest #content out there. For those who might not be aware, Dall-E creates art. More specifically, it takes a text entry, and it uses machine learning to create rudimentary imagery based on the description that the user enters. You can read more about it here. The version of Dall-E actually responsible for all the content on social media recently is a mini version called, appropriately enough, Dall-E mini. This is the one that has birthed all the deranged imagery you may have seen all over your feeds. Dall-E mini can be found here. In case you haven’t seen any of Dall-E’s creations, worry not. That’s why I’m here. With a little help from the ‘weird Dall-E’ subreddit by way of its Twitter account, here are some of the best Dall-E creations so far:
