She’s brazen; she speaks her mind; she calls people out; and she uses Twitter incredibly well. If Democrats could create the perfect opponent for Donald Trump, it would be Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, except for that whole too young and inexperienced thing. But she is the model — someone that might inspire so much passion that she could actually deliver on insane ideas like Medicare for all. How do we get a 43-year-old version of her with two terms in the House and one in the Senate?
We wait until 2032. Until then, follow her lead, Democrats. Make yourself accessible by talking policy while making dinner on Instagram.
Shout out to @Ocasio2018 for repping the shirt for our @donttrashnyc campaign on her livestream!

Mouctar Diallo, the African immigrant sanitation worker that was killed on the job, was a Bronx resident. These companies need to be held accountable ✊ðŸ¼âœŠðŸ½âœŠðŸ¾ pic.twitter.com/DcW6j3RRw9
.@Ocasio2018 is talking about the problem with cash bail while cutting chipotle chilis and making dinner. ðŸ‘ðŸ½ðŸ‘ðŸ½ðŸ‘ðŸ½ðŸ‘ðŸ½ðŸ‘ðŸ½ðŸ‘ðŸ½ðŸ‘ðŸ½

This is how you talk politics at the dinner table. I wish more politicians were real like this. pic.twitter.com/vlxoKAAKse
Come up with a few common sense ideas like this:
While I would disagree with your complaint that Americans get too much vacation time (we work some of the longest hours of any dev country & have no Fed required paid leave),
— Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (@Ocasio2018) November 18, 2018
I am willing to compromise by eliminating Columbus Day to give Election Day off.
See? I can be pliant. https://t.co/NITFcBSmxw
When conservatives on the right make fun of you for ridiculous reasons, don’t defend yourself. Own it. And instead of focusing on the fight, refocus it on policy:
The actual fear driving the attacks on my clothes, my checking account, my rent, isn’t that these folks are scared that I shouldn’t represent people in Congress.
— Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (@Ocasio2018) November 20, 2018
It’s fear that they’ve allowed their riches, their privilege, + their bias to put them to a point where they can’t.
My dad died when I was 18, my mom scrubbed toilets + drove drove schoolbuses, I bartended to help her, and still won a Congressional primary at 28.
— Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (@Ocasio2018) November 20, 2018
I’ll take my family over a fat bank account any day, and my experience makes me a better legislator.
I am the people I work for. https://t.co/NMWGeUIwNS
And when some shitty two-bit has-been “politician” calls you out for a slip of the tongue, well, this is how you handle it:
Now that’s *TWO* fallen GOP Vice Pres candidates going after a freshman Congresswoman that’s not even sworn in yet.
— Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (@Ocasio2018) November 20, 2018
Isn’t it a little early to be bringing out the big guns?
Especially when they look like the FWD:RE:FWD:WATCH THIS grandpa emails from the ‘08 election they lost https://t.co/TijjLgJ0MI
For those asking who’s the other one: Lieberman (😂)
— Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (@Ocasio2018) November 20, 2018
For those who need their jokes explained to them: surprise! This tweet thread is humorous!
— Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (@Ocasio2018) November 21, 2018
The 😂 emoji in the original tweet signals that humor is indicated in the statement. :)
(You know, because Lieberman killed the public option for healthcare and endorses Republicans)
And yes, that was Sarah Palin — SARAH PALIN — taking issue with Ocasio-Cortez’s knowledge of civics based on nothing. From Sarah Palin’s blog:
Amid her triumph on November 6th, in New York’s 14th congressional district, Ocasio-Cortez mistakenly said Congress has three chambers during a video call uploaded to social media. She quickly corrected herself in the subsequent sentence before then misidentifying the “three chambers of government.”
Ocasio-Cortez said: “If we work our butts off to make sure that we take back all three chambers of Congress — Uh, rather, all three chambers of government: the presidency, the Senate, and the House,” the congresswoman-elect said. “We can’t start working in 2020.”
That’s all you got? A slip of the tongue that she immediately corrected. And I’m not even gonna get into the hypocrisy of Sarah Palin calling out someone for their lack of civics knowledge. I’m gonna let others do that:
Anyone else remember:

"But obviously, we've got to stand with our North Korean allies."
A woman that could not answer the question, "what newspapers and magazines to you read" mocking someone else…how fucking rich is that. You were and still are an embarrassment to our country.https://t.co/DzbkZKFf3F

You mean like that time you thought the White House had a "department of law" or that the Vice President is in charge of the senate, or that the Constitution was based on the Bible? You know what they say about people in glass houses… https://t.co/sGqgV4byFY

Look at that ratio, people!
YIKES: Ocasio-Cortez Fumbles Basic Civics TWICE In 1 Statement https://t.co/5xkWeYjsPP

Point being: Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is a goddamn godsend.
