Last night’s Late Night with Seth Meyers was the cutest thing in the world and you should watch all of it, but if you want your heart to grow three sizes right this second, watch these two clips of the cast toasting one another on a 20-second time clock.
Aziz Ansari
I have Mr. Nick Offerman, who is an incredible person. He had a great mustache which is fucking gone now. I told him to send it to me and he didn’t. But he’s still an amazing guy and I’m gonna miss working with him.
Retta
I have Aubrey Plaza, who can scare the shit out of anyone with just a look but she is in real life the sweetest, most darling, loveliest, kindest, the biggest heart, and she can make you cry in a moment.
Nick Offerman
Adam Scott. Incredibly cute. The funniest, he’s got the funniest dry game. Even during Party Down, when there would be email chains around the cast, he would kill—I would laugh out loud at his contribution to email chains. Among the cast, biggest balls.
Mike Schur
I have Amy P…Powhler? Solid B+. (Amy: “Cup size more like it!”) Not gifted, not naturally talented, but like kinda grinding-it-out. I love her more than anyone in the world and I’m so happy we got to work together.
Chris Pratt
I got Jim O’Heir and I’m gonna need all 20 seconds. You are so genuine, incredibly thoughtful, you’re an amazing gift-giver, you’re a great listener, you’re a wonderful friend and you’re a great spokesman for our show. When people hit you up online you’re always kind to them, (at this point, Jim starts crying) and you know what, and you’re sensitive and don’t let anyone ever make you feel bad about that. That’s awesome.
Aubrey Plaza
I have Aziz Ansari, and I’m really happy about that because Aziz, I’ve known you longer than anyone in this room. I met you when I was like 18 or 19 and we’ve been through so much shit and you’re my bro for life, and I just love you more than anything, and you’re funny, and we’re both diverse so we have that going for us… a bonding thing for us (Aziz: “Ethnics.”) and um, yeah man. You’re the best. And I’m really glad you didn’t fall asleep right here, because I’m gonna miss you sleeping everywhere. That’s something I’ll never forget.
Adam Scott
I got Mike Schur. Mike is an incredibly forgiving person. I auditioned for the pilot of Parks and Rec and I did a terrible job, and did not get the job, and back then I was on a different show, a very serious show, and I remember when I read they’re doing an Office—at the time it was like the people from The Office doing a new show—I remember calling my agent and I said “I need you to get me off the show I’m on because I want to be on whatever this is,” got the audition, blew it, and then like a year and a half later, Mike asked me to join the show and it’s just, it’s been, it changed my life. I got to work with the best people and I do miss all of you so much and I’m so happy to be your friend, Mike.
Jim O’Heir
Chris Pratt began in a pit, he was laying in a damn pit, but here’s the thing—he was so loving, and such a great person then, he’s now one of the biggest stars in the frickin’ world and he’s the same person he was in that pit. And I mean that with all the love, there’s no one kinder and more gracious than Chris Pratt. I love him with all my heart.
Amy Poehler
OK, I get Retta Sirleaf, who is a queen, an amazing person, friend, cast member, and represents someone I didn’t know and I now feel like is family. All of you feel like family to me. I am so honored and completely overwhelmed by how much I love you and will love you for life. And this experience on Parks has been the best experience of my life (to Seth) except the times that we were together (Seth: “Finally. The forgotten years.”) And I just wanna thank the fans, the people who kept our show on the air, and who watched it to the end. Retta, I love you and I love everybody here. Congratulations to everybody.
