This video is longer than our usual internet fare, but well worth it for those of us who are drooling Allie Brosh fangirls and boys. Her lovely and sometimes very personal (in fact, downright vulnerable) blog, Hyperbole & A Half, has made her one of the most beloved figures in the blogging game. Not because she’s apple pie sunshine all the time or courts our favor, Deschanel-style, by being perma-cute and cuddly. No, Brosh’s work, despite its technicolor palette, can be quite dark.

In celebration of her new book, “Hyperbole and a Half: Unfortunate Situations, Flawed Coping Mechanisms, Mayhem, and Other Things That Happened,” Brosh gave a talk at Google. The interesting thing about Brosh is that she could trade in on her cuteness. Look at her! She’s like a little blonde tornado of awwww. But she doesn’t. Her work is thoughtful and often holds up a mirror to us and reflects back the things we thought we were alone in feeling. In short, she’s wonderful and this talk is adorable. Come for her nervous, stilted beginning, stay to hear her laugh timidly at her own jokes. Enjoy.
