I think I’m in love.

The good folks over at YouTube channel Shitty Film Productions have delivered unto this world a gift of such joy.

Such disturbing, twisted joy.

As many of you know, I’m what you might call a bit of a fan of It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia.

Just a little bit.

A tad.

That last link, incidentally, is relevant to this beautiful video that Shitty Film Productions have put together. It’s a compilation of some of the most inspired, depraved, and indelible imagery that Sunny has ever put out. And it’s put out a lot. Sunny is a black horse. It pretends to be an erratic, rough-and-ready little show, but over the years it’s proven to be anything but. Quoth myself:

It’s Always Sunny is a richer show visually than perhaps many people realise, starting out in its early days with a deft understanding of a great sight gag and a skill for packing a pleasantly composed frame with resonant (or just vile) imagery, and only developing this more and more as time went on and budgets increased. Strange costumes; ruined backdrops; off-kilter symmetries; incidental and crucial details; negative space — It’s Always Sunny knows how to prepare a tableau.

Shitty Film Productions’ video shows exactly that, but in wonderful motion, and with fantastic editing. Feast your eyes:

There’s a phrase that the Library of Congress uses to justify archiving great works of art. When they preserve these pieces of human creation, they cite their ‘cultural, historical or aesthetic’ significance.

Stupid science bitches. Put Sunny in there.
