Stephen Colbert Lives! But the Colbeard Is Sadly No More In His First 'Late Show' Promo

Now that David Letterman is gone and we’ve had our acceptable mourning period, it’s time to look ahead to the brave new world of Stephen Colbert’s Late Show. And he’s ready to give us a delightful taste of things to come. But, first, the vacation beard must go. So he did what everyone who has ever shaved a particularly formidable beard has done—tried the various looks between full beardface and clean-shaven.

We have the Un-Hitler.

We have the Amish.

“This shit is gonna go viral just as soon as they get internet on their butter churns.”

We have the Half-Wolverine.

And, finally, Classic Clean Colbert.

We’ll never forget you, weirdly hot Colbeard.

And we’re all making “Camptown Races” set to the tune of “Good Riddance (Time of Your Life)” our ringtones, right? Definitely.
