That bullshit open letter to the Anti-Defamation League that Gary Oldman (or his publicist) wrote on Tuesday, apologizing for the comments he made in Playboy magazine pseudo-defending Mel Gibson and Alec Baldwin, was clearly insufficient, and the Anti-Defamation League said as much, blasting the guy for an inadequate apology.
Last night, instead of cancelling a his appearance, Gary Oldman went on Jimmy Kimmel’s show and gave a proper apology, one that felt sincere, one that suggested he understood why he was apologizing.
“I should be an example and an inspiration. And I’m an A-hole. I’m 56. I should know better.”
Well said. Apology accepted. You can be on your way now. Have a nice life.
BRING IN THE NEXT CELEBRITY APOLOGY PLEASE.
