As Musical Mashups Go It Really Doesn't Get Much Better Than This

There was only one Lemmy. There will only ever be one Lemmy. The purest, most singular definition of rock and roll and metal, Lemmy was the real deal. He did things his own way, and he did not give one single, solitary f**k. It was Lemmy’s world, and we were all just lucky enough to share it with him for a while. When he died at the tail end of 2015, it felt like something had passed the likes of which we’ll never see again, and I wrote about the moment while really struggling to make sense of it all. I listened to nothing but Motörhead albums for several days after. Motörhead’s music was unique. Thousands tried to imitate it, but Lemmy and co’s blistering blend of punk, heavy metal, rock ‘n’ roll, and raw power and aggression was—and will always remain—inimitable. Nevertheless, that doesn’t mean that the occasional mashup can’t work with it sometimes! So here’s one of the best of these I’ve ever heard, courtesy of Motörhead’s legendary ‘Overkill’ and James Brown’s uber cool ‘Super Bad’. You’re welcome.
