Michelle Obama was on “Carpool Karaoke” with James Corden last night, and what an incredibly delightful woman she is. We do not deserve her.
She sang “Signed, Sealed, Delivered, I’m Yours,” Beyonce’s “Single Ladies,” and was joined by Missy Elliot, and they sang “This Is For My Girls,” which Elliot recorded for Obama’s “Let Girls Learn” initiative. They ended the segment with “Get UR Freak On.”
It’s hard to believe, but we’ve only had 3 Presidents in the last 24 years. I know that Bill Clinton was still popular when he left office, mostly for having survived eight years of scandals. President Obama, however, may be the first President in my lifetime who will leave office more liked than when he came in. It’s hard to say what kind of legacy he will have, but I feel like he may be our Reagan in 20-30 years, the guy every Democratic politician wants to compare himself to. He may have had some missteps as a President, but as people, President and Michelle Obama are flawless.
How anyone could dislike this family, let alone spend four days bashing them on national television, is absolutely baffling to me.
