Mandy Patinkin Speaks So Passionately About His Princess Bride Character That Your Heart Is Probably Going to Explode

This clip is a couple of months old (shut up), but it was from the George Stroumboulopoulos show, which is Canadian or something, and since no one pays attention to Canadians (not even other Canadians!), no one has actually seen this. Someone over at Reddit resurrected it, because it’s a video that needs resurrecting, damnit.

In it, Mandy Patinkin talks at length about his Princess Bride character, Inigo Montoya, and how he believed that, if his character could avenge his father’s death, Patinkin himself could somehow will his own father — who died of cancer — back from death. And the Patinkin delivers his favorite line from the film, and it’s probably not the line you think it is, and … when it’s all said and done, you just kind of want to reach out and give the guy a hug, but you shouldn’t. Because you’re a stranger, and that would be weird. Don’t be weird.
