Leave It to 'The View' to Be F*cking Terrible About Bill Cosby's Accusers

The women of The View made a terrible decision today and tried to talk about the Bill Cosby rape allegations. It was— to use their favorite word of the segment— awkward. They seemed to think it was really “awkward” that they had to talk about it because they’re famous and Cosby is famous and when your famous friend is accused of raping a whole bunch of women over the span of a few decades, that’s just, like, really awkward, you guys. At least Nicole Wallace spoke out against the repeated understatement.

It’s more than awkward. It’s a tragedy. Either 13 women were raped by somebody too powerful to face the full weight of criminal justice system or an innocent man is being falsely accused. This is either a tragedy or a tragedy.
The worst part of the whole thing is every time Whoopi Goldberg speaks. ANY TIME Goldberg speaks about rape, it makes me want to punch YouTube in its cyber-ovaries.

Because apparently Whoopi Goldberg doesn’t understand that a rape kit doesn’t immediately convince everyone that the sex you had with an insanely famous man wasn’t consensual (and people will usually assume it was). That is doesn’t keep people like her from judging and scoffing and stigmatizing. But maybe she can get that explained to her when she asks this woman all of those burning questions of hers. Look, she doesn’t have to believe these accusations, but she seems to think she’s entitled to a one-on-one interview before she takes them seriously.
