Kristen Wiig was on Late Night with Seth Meyers last night, where so far his best guests do tend to be current and former Saturday Night Live members. After spending a few minutes demonstrating her various acting faces, Wiig and Meyers talked SNL, and in particular one character of Wiig’s, Rebecca Larue, that appeared only once, in Weekend Update. At one point during that segment, Larue threw open her legs and began suggestively moving toward Meyers, and what’s great about it — especially with this knowledge now — is that it was completely improvised, and that Seth Meyers had no idea it was coming. (See at 3:40)

She also said that, besides the opening and ending bit, her and Fred Armisen’s “Garth and Kat” segments were also completely improvised (and they often didn’t even do a rehearsal run), although that may explain why I liked those characters so little. She ended her interview by revealing what sketch she’d be doing for Meyers’ Second Chance Theater (Meyers will be putting together a bunch of “SNL” cast members to perform favorite sketches of theirs that were cut from the show).
