David Fincher, renowned film director to many, “some guy” to Tyler Perry, has taken an unexpected sharp turn with his career. The man who, over the last 20 years, has made a living off of creating uniquely creepy, nightmare-making characters, has started directing Gap ads with the tagline “Dress Normal.”
I almost love the fact that Gap is accepting how boring their clothes are, but that doesn’t actually make them any less boring. Fincher has four ads in total, all trying to make normcore is the new sexy.
I guess we can bid farewell to the days of Seven and Fight Club. It’s all Social Network sweater vests from here on out.
