Goldieblox, the toy maker with a focus on Rube Goldbergian engineering toys for girls, gained a lot of notoriety last year for a killer ad that parodied the Beastie Boys “Girls,” before airing a Super Bowl ad funded by Intuit after winning a contest voted upon by the public. The Super Bowl ad was another parody song, but this latest is more focussed on the actual toys themselves. Borrowing from an old anti-drug PSA, the new ad delivers a similar message: Put down the Barbies, and pick up the construction kits.
