Ellens Page and Degeneres Trade Coming-Out Stories, Speak to their Transformations

Ellen Page, who revealed that she was gay in a beautiful speech back in February, sat down with Ellen Degeneres — the first lesbian to publicly coming out on network television — to swap stories, so to speak, and talk about what a relief it was for both of them after they came out.

It’s a lovely moment in television, really, to see two wonderful women who spent much of their lives hiding their identity come together and talk about the experience, and to see Ellen Page reflect on how one of the bravest moments in television paved the way for her own coming out speech .
