Flight comes out today, and I’ll have a review this afternoon, just as soon as I take in a screening. I love me some Denzel, too. There may be better actors (not many), they’re more be more likable people (not many), but almost no one commands the screen more than Denzel. The man is magnetic.

Anyway, ahead of today’s release of Flight, here’s a look back at 18-year-old Denzel’s first ever screen role, back in the day when black people were asked all too often to play ally thugs. It’s a brief moment, but Denzel takes a bullet like a motherf*cker.

OSCAR!

I tried to find video of the first movie role of John Goodman, who is also in Flight, and who is also a commanding screen presence, but unfortunately, it doesn’t seem to exist. However, there is a one-minute clip from the film, and it is pretty much what you’d expect from a movie called Jailbait Baysitter.
