I feel like I’ve said this a few times before, but this honestly is my last Robin Williams post. The Late Show returned from summer break last night, and Letterman addressed Williams’ death. His tribute admittedly doesn’t break any new ground on discussing Williams as a person, but it’s surprisingly intimate to see him talk about his decades long relationship with Williams as a colleague and contemporary.
Letterman is as funny as always when remembering Williams’ first set at West Hollywood’s The Comedy Store, but takes a heartbreakingly honest turn when talking about Williams’ struggles with depression.
Give it the 10 minutes, it’s well worth it.
