Colbert Defends Pluto To Neil DeGrasse Tyson, And Watches Earth Get Thrown Under The Bus In The Process

True story: the other morning I woke up in a cold, panicky sweat, I swear to god, because I realized that we’ve only got a few more weeks with Jon Stewart. Yes, I know we should all be excited about Trevor Noah as the new host, and I’m looking forward to watching him work. But I’ll still have to mourn the loss of Stewart.

Luckily, Colbert’s gradual return to our lives is helping to soothe our collective souls. After taking over Michigan’s favorite public access show, Colbert is back doing what he loves: arguing with astrophysicists Neil Degrasse Tyson about the status of dwarf planet Pluto. You know, how one does on a Wednesday.

After the recent information gathered by New Horizons spacecraft was received, Colbert sat down with NDT to try to make him change his position that Pluto is not a planet. Things did not go well for Colbert.

Incidentally if we can’t somehow legally change NDT’s name to Neil “I’m Just Going To Freeball This” Tyson, I’m going to be very disappointed in us.
