Sorry. I’m fine now. But, yes, I do mean that “it.” As in CNN’s Don Lemon asked one of Bill Cosby’s accusers why she didn’t just bite Cosby’s penis when he forced himself on her.

I apparently wasn’t that fine.

So here’s the thing, Don: physical force isn’t the only weapon men use to rape women. Sometimes they use threats of violence, actual violence, manipulation of social niceties, or alcohol and drugs. Kind of like the drugs Joan Tarshis JUST TOLD YOU Cosby gave her before he raped her.

And, Don, let’s talk about that “quick on your feet” thinking you seem to believe every woman in Tarshis’ situation should possess. Why, you ask, after being drugged and assaulted by a trusted public figure was Tarshis not able to realize that she could prevent her assault by biting his penis? Well, I’m not sure really. Why is it that with plenty of notice about who your guest was, what you’d be discussing, and what information she’d already given to the media did it take you 50 fucking seconds to spit that question out?

But don’t worry, Don, there’s an easy remedy for this level of inept assholery. The next time you find yourself in a position where you’re about to say something astonishingly insensitive and misinformed, use your teeth as a weapon. Close them until you have something beneficial to say.
