'Broad City' Shows Us How 90s Remakes Should Happen, And We Should Weep At Our Inadequacy

As a person who lived through the 1990s, I have to admit, I don’t get the obsession with them. Fuller House, the X-Files reboot, effing Baywatch. Only one of those was a good show the first time around, and we watched it die a slow, painful death. I would joke that Tim Allen is the next to reboot his show, but from all accounts he’s been doing that unnoticed for 5 years.

I have some pretty strong feelings against remakes and reboots. Childhood loves should not be revisited. If nothing else, Courtney’s “Liveblogging the 90s” series should have taught you that. But if you absolutely must dip back into the 90s pool, might I suggest you do it like Broad City does.

This will also serve as your yearly reminder that Jennifer Love Hewitt was in a movie with the Dowager Countess herself Maggie Smith. The world makes no sense.
