GoldieBlox burst onto the scene with the radical idea of targeting engineering toys at girls. Since then, the brand has caught our attention again and again with clever ads that defy convention. They set a pack of fiery girls loose on the “pink” aisle to the plaintive shreds of “We Are The Champions.” They revamped Beastie Boys “Girls” and displayed a cute Rube Goldberg machine. They mocked princess culture and rebelled against the Barbie doll mold.
In their latest commercial, GoldieBlox embraces the wide range of role models girls today have, from principal ballerina Misty Copeland, Olympian Amy Wambach, NFL coach Jen Welter, presidential hopeful Hillary Clinton, Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, to engineer Isis Anchalee, entrepreneur Beyonce, rapper Nicki Minaj, Emmy winner Viola Davis, and comedian Amy Schumer, re-enacting her feminist and funny sketch about makeup and boybands.
It’s all kind of awesome with an assist from pint-sized diva Sophia Grace.
Some of these role models have already taken to Twitter to spread the message:
