Remember when Steven told us about how he misses baseball? I feel that way about baseball movies.
There was a period in my preteen years where all of my favorite movies were about baseball. Because I was a busy child and I didn’t have the time to sit through game after game like some people (Steven), I wanted the magic of the sport distilled into easy 90 minute segments. And the late 80s / early 90s did not disappoint. Field of Dreams, The Sandlot, A League Of Their Own, and perhaps oddly for a 10 year- old- girl, Bull Durham. I loved Bull Durham so much that it tricked me into thinking Kevin Costner was both good looking and a good actor. Which means this Instagram of A’s rookie Mark Canha is one of the best things I’ve ever seen.
I’m sorry, my beloved White Sox, but I have a new favorite player.
Just in case anyone needs the reference, or just for fun, here’s the scene.
Although I personally always preferred this one.
