Good effort Anne Hathaway! Good effort! I really do appreciate that Ms. Hathaway really wants to blend in with your Kendricks, Lawrences, and Emma Stones. But you know, maybe don’t? It’s not her style. I know it. You know it. Even Anne Hathaway knows it (and she acknowledges as much in the last song below). I like her, but she’s a little unctuous and her efforts to gain our affection can be a little off-putting.

Instead of trying to win us over, I say she should try and own her cred. Turn it into a positive. Instead of trying to win our affection with viral videos ill suited to her, maybe she should try indifference, detachment, smugness. Wear a pair of sunglasses. Furl her eyebrows. Go all Marie Antoinette. She may not gain our affection, but she may gain our respect.

This? This is OK. I guess, although it reminds me of Gwyneth in her most love-me-please moments.
