Nickelodeon’s Legend of Korra drew to a close last week when its final episode hit the web. And how did this cartoon series end its four-season run of rule-breaking in the realms of gender expectation, representation, and all things awesome? By having its titular hero not end up with the dull dude who’s been toying with her heart for years (real talk Mako: get your shit together), but instead walking off into her next adventure with Asami, the woman who’s become her most loyal and trusted friend…and maybe something more?

The last shot of Legend of Korra (seen above) had the young Avatar intimately holding hands and looking into the eyes of her gal pal Asami. Some have called this ambiguous. Some have called it a clear sign that these two will be partners on more than a villain-fighting front. And some of us wanted more.

Now some gorgeous fan art tipped by io9 has given it up:

Korrasami forever.
