What The World Needs Now Is More Amber Ruffin (And That’s What We’re Getting!)

Oh happy day! (Oh happy daaaay) Oh happy DaaAAAaaay! (Oh happy daaay!) More Amber Episoooodes! (More episoooodes!) … You get the point. Amber Ruffin has been absolutely crushing it this year with her very own talk show on Peacock, The Amber Ruffin Show. Well, yesterday Amber took to the ole YouTubes and the Tweeters to make a very important announcement.

Not only are we getting a special Christmas episode of the show this month (eek!) but we’re definitely getting “a bunch” of episodes in January! While this doesn’t come across like a formal renewal of sorts, it’s exciting nonetheless. And in this new world of streaming service talk shows, I’ll take what I can get.

If you haven’t been watching The Amber Ruffin Show, then get on it! She and her writers and her wonderful sidekick Tarik have put together some excellent shows with fantastic sketches and segments. It’s an absolute joy to watch people have such a good time putting on their show. It’s infectious.

Here’s one of my favorite bits to appear so far:

Amber Ruffin is the future of late-night talk shows. Do I know what that future will look like as its landscape is constantly in flux? No way. But I’m confident that it will be worthwhile as long as she is involved. Though, honestly, at this point, I would follow her anywhere. (Not in a creepy way.)
