Well, that happened. After 8 seasons, 73 episodes, and countless think pieces, David Benioff and D.B. Weiss brought Game of Thrones to a close. Our recappers will be breaking down the episode “The Iron Throne” in the coming week. But for now, let’s look at how Twitter responded to the series finale we’ve spent eight years anticipating.

Dany’s new form is Queen of Ashes, but she’s still the queen of meme.

And if you’re still wondering why Dany burned down King’s Landing…

Then the whole Jon and Dany and Drogon thing.

Game of Thrones almost brought democracy to Westeros. Almost.

Then Edmure Tully—who should just be happy to be alive—thought he’d claim his moment.

Bran The Broken, huh?

This bullshit aside. It was still a good night for Team Sansa.

And did you catch the return of Robyn Arryn?

Then there was Brienne and that damn book.

What will become of Jon Snow Targaryen now?
