If you have spent the last two days turning away from your computer screen after every blackface revelation concerning Justin Trudeau, allow Trevor Noah to summarize the scandal for you. Here, he tracks Trudeau apologizing for wearing blackface at one event, only to be confronted with wearing blackface at another event, where he sang the song, “Day-O.” “And now if you’ll excuse me,” Trevor Noah jokes, “daylight’s coming and me wan’ go home.’”

The video also provides helpful make-up tips to white people thinking about their next costume party.

It may also be a good time to bring out Keenan’s SNL skit about blackface from the last season of SNL. Lots of helpful reminders here.

I have no idea how it will affect Justin Trudeau’s chances in the next Canadian election. We’re tracking political elections here in the States, in the UK, and in Israel right now, and it never occurred to us that we’d need to catalogue the scandals and controversies in a Canadian election. The Independent, however, suggests that the race is close, that both parties are very similar, and that this is unlikely to affect Trudeau’s chances very much, although I suspect there’s plenty of Canadians who might disagree.

In the meantime, if we’re talking Halloween costumes, Beyoncé dressed as Lisa Bonet last Halloween, and the images only surfaced this morning. They are outstanding. But, please, Justin Trudeau: Do not attempt this next Halloween.
