Alfonso Cuarón, Cate Blanchett, and Kevin Kline have teamed up to bring Renée Knight’s best-selling novel Disclaimer to AppleTV+. The seven-part series tells the story of journalist Catherine Ravenscroft (Blanchett) who has built her reputation revealing the misdeeds and transgressions of others. When she receives a novel from an unknown author, she is horrified to realize she is now the main character in a story that exposes her darkest secrets.

Disclaimer also stars Sacha Baron Cohen, Kodi Smit-McPhee (The Power Of The Dog), Lesley Manville (Mrs. Harris Goes To Paris), Louis Partridge (Enola Holmes), and Hoyeon (Squid Game).

It premieres today, October 11th, on AppleTV+. You can read Kayleigh’s TIFF review here.

Michael Felker’s (Something In The Dirt) time-traveling heist movie, Things Will Be Different was released in theaters and on streaming earlier this month. My bad, sorry. It looks interesting, though, so I felt like you need to know about it.

Things Will Be Different stars Adam David Thompson (Vampires vs. The Bronx), Riley Dandy, Chloe Skoczen, Justin Benson, Sarah Bolger, and Jori Lynn Felker. It’s available to rent or buy on Prime Video.

It’s Spooky Season (Official), and Hulu still has a couple of tricks and treats up its sleeve with Carved.

Starring Matty Cardarople (A Series Of Unfortunate Events), DJ Qualls (Supernatural), Chris Elliott (Schitt’s Creek), Corey Fogelmanis (Ma), Peyton Elizabeth Lee, and Jackson Kelly (Chucky) Carved looks like it could be this year’s It’s A Wonderful Knife.

Carved premieres on Hulu on October 21st.

For this week’s lagniappe, I present the trailer for Midgies. It is the most Scottish thing I’ve ever seen. After some discussion, it was decided amongst the Pajiba writers that if this movie took place in the US, it would have to be in Maine, Massachusetts, or possibly Wisconsin, where I had the most horrible mosquito experience of my entire life.
