The disastrous turn the MCU took in 2023 forced Marvel to rethink its strategy by releasing fewer titles and focusing more on the quality of those titles. There will only be one Marvel movie in 2024, for instance, and Deadpool & Wolverine is already shaping up to be one of the biggest movies of the year.

Agatha All Along, the spin-off to Marvel television’s WandaVision has been in development so long that we’ve almost given up on it. Wandavision debuted in January 2021. It’s the first MCU TV show since the five-episode Echo released in January. Dare I say, based on the trailer: The wait was worth it.

The Acolyte has revived dormant interest in the Star Wars universe on Disney+ Maybe Agatha All Along can do the same for Marvel. Let’s hope they don’t try to cram too many Easter eggs into this one and just let it be its own thing. Also, Kathryn Hahn is a marvel.

Agatha All Along also stars Patti LuPone, Aubrey Plaza, Joe Locke, and Debra Jo Rupp, among others. It arrives on September 18th.
