When “The Office” first started, it really was superb.
In the beginning, we could all agree that it was great. It was our common denominator, something we all shared.
I mean, remember watching Jim and Pam fall in love?
I mean, THIS?
I had seven small heart attacks.
Everything was wonderful. But, then the branches merged, and there were just a lot of people.
Which was great and all. We all liked Andy (at first) and it is a testament to Rashida Jones’s adorability that we liked Karen as much as we did.
And then this happened and I cried a million.
So, despite a slight loss of interest, we were all still pretty much on board. But, then, things started to…change.
But, still, I stayed true. Largely out of loyalty.
And good things were still happening. Yay for Jam babies!
But, mostly, things didn’t get better.
See, Paul Lieberstein took over. You know. Toby.
Turns out Michael was right about Toby all along.
Because he ruined the show.
I couldn’t even believe Catherine Tate and James Spader were joining.
But that joy was short-lived.
So, by this point, the show had basically stopped being the show we loved.
Which character took most shocking leap from wonderful to kind of a douche?
I mean, Ryan, did you even know the journey your role would take?
Oh, wait, Will Ferrell was on this show?
I legitimately forgot.
And Kathy?
Let’s just pretend that never happened.
Lets be on the realz and just sum up seasons six through eight.
But, what’s this? Greg Daniels will return?
The show gets good again!
Sure, it still should have ended when Michael left.
But at least everything got better. And everything worked out for PB & J, and even Dwight and Angela!
So, goodbye, “The Office.” We may not have ways gotten along, but I’ll miss you so much.
