‘The Daily Show’s’ Michael Kosta Shows That Olympians Need Hugs Too

Nothing says “we did it” like an unhinged, incredibly emotional, arm-spreading hug! Think about it. Sports games, theater plays, stock trades (I assume), all are celebrated with hugs. But the huggiest of hugs are reserved for the world stage. Just ask Michael Kosta of The Daily Show. Oh wait, you don’t have to! Look at that!

In a new segment from Kosta, he definitely went to Tokyo to examine the hugs given and received by Olympic athletes and their coaches. Some are hard, some are tender, all are passionate! One even includes slapping, because I dunno sure why not?! Everything is on the table when you’ve just won an Olympic medal or are in the slapping situation you are… about to win? Maybe? It’s still not clear.

All jokes aside, this segment is not only hilarious but kinda heartwarming. Maybe it’s because I, a self-professed consensual hugger, haven’t been able to hug my friends for the past year. It friggin’ blows. How are they supposed to know I support them? What am I supposed to do with all these “Can I Hug You” consent forms? I’m not getting them Notarized again, I’ll tell you that much.

Anyway, enjoy watching other people hug in this video I found on the internet. Don’t ask any more questions, just click it. You’ll be glad you did, I swear.

I’ll just be here.

Watching you, watching people hug.

For no reason whatsoever.
