'The Daily Show' Announces The Second Annual Pandemmy Nominations

Nobody saw this coming! Unless, you know, you’ve been paying attention for the last year and a half. The Pandemmys were created by the folks at The Daily Show to honor those who prolong the COVID pandemic through misinformation, acts of defiance, or general cuckoo bananas behavior. If you’re thinking that these awards may be more sad than funny, you are correct! Like it or not, the Pandemmys are here to remind us that certain people are making this a whole lot harder than it needs to be.

— BEST VACCINE INCENTIVE THAT’S NOT “IT SAVES YOUR LIFE”

— BEST COVID-SUPPORTING GOVERNOR

— BEST SUPPORTING DISASTER IN A PANDEMIC

All your favorites are represented. Candace Owens, Tucker Carlson, Marjorie Taylor Greene, and even White Guy With Dreads Who Yelled “Hail Fauci”! It’s a regular who’s who pieces of human garbage. This is all being played for a joke, but the candidates are real, and each one is worse than the last.

It’s also interesting to think about the scope of this. Some of these people didn’t ask to be “famous.” They brought these situations on themselves, and are responsible for the fallout, but they aren’t Tucker Carlson. They aren’t getting paid millions of dollars to keep this pandemic train rolling, and yet they are being mentioned in the same breath as those who are.
