The Cast Of 'Felicity' Floats The Idea Of A Reboot, And... I Guess?

I don’t need to tell you people this because I know you’re all as tired as I am, but this year has… I don’t want to say forced, but… forced me to find certain ways of coping with a burning world. Escaping into comforting pop culture has been a balm, and for me, that’s been trashy fantasy novels and melodramatic television. Rewatching Felicity on Hulu has been my drug of choice lately, and let me tell you, it is still a great time. Yes, a lot of the music is different now due to copyright issues which is a huge bummer, but the relationship drama, ’90s fashion, and progressive storylines hold up very well.

The cast reunited at an ATX Festival panel today, and because this is 2018 and everything gets a reboot now, the question was floated about bringing Felicity back. I mean, The Americans is over so Keri Russell needs a new job, Scott Foley’s Whiskey Cavalier doesn’t look that great, and Scott Speedman is… just hanging around being handsome? Although he’s been hesitant to the idea in the past, Foley seemed to be coming around to the idea, saying “Looking at these faces and seeing that clip, and feeling some of the emotions reminiscing about that, I would kind of love to work with them again. I’d love the opportunity to find out what happened to [the show’s characters]. I don’t know how it would work or what the story would be.” Speedman agreed, claiming that “there’s a way to make it work.” Russell didn’t comment, because she’s goddamn Elizabeth Jennings and can frankly do whatever she wants now.

So what do we think? Do we want people shuffling into rooms unannounced and softly saying “hey” once again? Do we need to bring back the Felicity-Ben-Noel love triangle (Team Ben But Honestly Felicity Deserves Better Than Both Of Them)? Would it even be the same show without all the flannel and Sarah McLachlan? At the very least, they could retcon the time traveling fuckery at the end of season 4, because I am still not over that travesty.
