'The Boys' Will End with Season 5

Eric Kripke, the showrunner of Amazon Prime’s The Boys, announced on Twitter this morning that Season 5 of the series will be the final season.

Kripke revealed that — notwithstanding rumors to the contrary earlier this week — this had always been his plan for the show. He tweeted that he had to remain “cagey” until he received the final approval from Vought, the fictional corporation at the center of the show’s plot. Kripke also said he was excited to give fans a “gory, epic, moist climax.”

The Boys has been a big hit for Amazon. Even after it concludes, however, there is still the spin-off Gen V, as well as another spin-off set in Mexico, which is currently in development.

Season 4 is set to premiere in two days.
