Ron DeSantis will not be remembered kindly in the history books (if he is remembered at all). His accomplishments are minimal and terrible. He’s picked fights with giants like Disney and been humiliated. He entered a popularity contest for the worst people the United States has to offer, was thoroughly embarrassed, and then bent the knee to a man who ridicules him regularly.
DeSantis has no spine or moral fiber. His messages and policies are hateful and destructive. If his name is dragged through the mud for the rest of time, it will be too good for his pudding-drenched fingers. Never again should he be mentioned without the accompanying stink of failure.
The crew at The Late Show with Stephen Colbert seem to be on the same page as I am. They kicked off the newest episode with a quick and merciless recap of DeSantis’ campaign. It’s a quick hit of blunder after awkward blunder from a truly hideous and unremarkable man.
The only downside to this is that DeSantis can still pull his bullshit down in Florida. He is still a very real danger to a lot of people. Hopefully, this nationally broadcasted embarrassment that he practically begged for will sway voters away from him. Though I can only imagine something much worse is lurking around the corner.
