Stephen Colbert Enlists An Animated Liam Neeson For A Holiday Special

Christmas is around the corner! If you’re like me, you’re too stressed by an impending move to get into the spirit. If your lease doesn’t end at one of the worst times of the year to move, you’ve likely checked out at this point. Oh, how I envy you! Time to sit back and watch movies, holiday specials, and animated shorts where TFG is turned into a blob-like Santa Claus!

That’s what the crew at The Late Show with Stephen Colbert cooked up. It’s a hilarious and demented special about TFG attempting to steal the goodwill of ole St. Nick to avoid his indictment. It features all the political commentary you would expect from the show, with some fun animation and even a shot at Elon “Please Like Me” Musk.

When I first saw the tag for this video, I assumed I wouldn’t like it or even be that interested. I’m busy, but I need a break from world events like everybody else. Naive? You betcha. I have no regrets. Still, I found myself enjoying this short thoroughly. Why? Christmas.

I’m not religious. I’m also not someone who pines for Christmases of old. I’ve just accepted that many people in this country shut down and celebrate this time of year. I can do the same without leaning into the religious aspects of things. Because of that, I’m easily swayed by Christmas-themed entertainment this time of year.

Part of my enjoyment exists because I’ve permitted myself to enjoy this time of year. The rest of my enjoyment stems from watching my kids get so excited by Santa and the like. They turn three in March, so now is the prime time to indoctrinate them. This post is a little all over the place, but I was also driving a car full of stuff to New Jersey at 7 AM this morning.
