Sure, you could start your week off by checking the weather for the next couple of days. You could see what those clowns in Congress are up to. What a bunch of clowns. Maybe you’ve got some meal prepping to do? No. None of this sounds right. It’s clear how you should start your week: watching Amber Ruffin skateboard with Tony Hawk!
Like skateboarding, Amber is making her first appearance at the Olympics this year. She’s been covering the games for Peacock and it’s easily been the best part so far. She’s just so genuinely excited by everything! She’s having so much fun! It’s friggin’ infectious. So it should come as no surprise that Amber learning how to skate from Tony Hawk himself is an absolute delight.
Not only is Amber happy and excited but Tony Hawk seems so nice! It’s like a whirlwind of positive energy. If I had any sort of say in the matter, I would try to get these two in a show or special together. Their chemistry and general vibe around each other is just fantastic. It’s like a cup of coffee for your good feelings.
All that is to say, you’re welcome. This is going to start your week off right. But don’t thank me. Thank the magnificent Amber Ruffin, who turns anything she touches into pure entertainment. Thank Tony Hawk, for being such a cool dude (just look how he keeps his hands in his pockets! So cool!). And catch them both this fall, in my mind, in a show where they solve mysteries.
But, like, fun mysteries where no one gets hurt.
And also the mysteries are skateboard-related.
