Guns are ingrained in American pop culture. Almost any action movie you watch is going to see the hero using a gun and looking f***ing rad while they’re doing it. Some of the best video games? You better believe you’ll be using a gun, while also being able to carry an unnatural amount of ammunition. The latest Post Malone jam?! All about guns! (OK, I don’t know if that one is true; I only know, like, two Post Malone songs)

As part of a larger show about gun control titled Full Frontal Wants To Take Your Guns, host Samantha Bee focused on gun control in America. It’s a wonderful special and I suggest watching the whole thing. Here, we’re going to focus on one particular segment that clearly spoke to me. It was all about making guns less cool.

First off, the jokes in this bit are just fantastic if not depressing. Like saying nobody should have a gun but then quickly saying “except John Wick” to everyone’s agreement. It really showcases just how difficult it would be to make guns uncool while also pointing out how big of a problem it is. How do you remove something that is so tied to our identity as a nation?

Second, I’M SO EXCITED FOR THE RETURN OF TAPED SEGMENTS WITH MORE THAN TWO PEOPLE. It may seem like a small thing, but it really makes my heart swell. Things are starting to look normal again.

Full Frontal with Samantha Bee is often a cut above the rest and this gun control special really drives that home. It’s smart, funny, well researched, and rooted in common sense and empathy. Watch it all.
