Riverdale is rich with references to everything from Blue Jasmine and What Ever Happened To Baby Jane, to Black Mirror and The Town That Dreaded Sundown. So it should come as little surprise that an upcoming episode will be one big musical celebration to one of the most notorious Broadway shows of all time, Carrie.

EW has revealed that the April 18th episode of Riverdale will feature 11 songs from Carrie: The Musical, as Kevin Keller puts on the 1988 bomb as a school play. Here’s the cast list for Riverdale High’s sure-to-be bonkers production:

Betty Cooper is perfectly cast as Sue Snell, and of course her mommie dearest is playing Mrs. White, the smothering mother to the telekinetic teen heroine. The real shocker here is bombshell Cheryl Blossom cast as Carrie. Will she dare go out in public without her signature red lipstick? Or will she give Carrie White a Blossom brand of brazeness? Either way, I’m there. Bought my tickets. Counting down the days.

Now, for those of you unaware, yeah. After the iconic 1976 horror movie came out, the chilling 1974 Stephen King novel inspired a Broadway musical. With a book by Lawrence D. Cohen, lyrics by Dean Pitchford, and music by Michael Gore, Carrie: The Musical boasts song numbers like “And Eve was Weak,” “The World According to Chris,” and “A Night We’ll Never Forget.” After a four-week run in England, the show hit the Broadway stage, but ran for just five performances before closing. The New York Times reported that the “more-than-$7 million show…was the most expensive quick flop in Broadway history.”

It’s since become a popular title for high school theater groups to put on. And a bunch of productions of the show can be found on Youtube. Or you can buy the soundtrack to ready yourself for Riverdale’s run at it.
